Dr. Sin-Ye Jhong 鍾昕燁

Sin-Ye Jhong received the Ph.D. degree in Engineering Science from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, in 2024. From 2023 to 2024, he was a Research Fellow with the Smart Electric Vehicle Center, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taipei, Taiwan. In 2024, he was also a Visiting Scholar with the University of South Florida (USF), Tampa, FL, USA, supported by the Graduate Students Study Abroad Fellowship (千里馬計畫) from the National Science and Technology Council (國科會). He previously served as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Tamkang University in 2025. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor with the Graduate Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology at NTUST. His research interests include computer vision, deep learning, multimodal learning, artificial intelligence of things (AIoT), robot perception & navigation, and human-robot interaction.

Sin-Ye Jhong 於 2024 年取得國立成功大學（NCKU）工程科學博士學位。2023–2024 年間於國立臺灣科技大學（NTUST）智慧電動車研究中心擔任研究員；2024 年並在國科會千里馬計畫支持下，赴南佛羅里達大學（USF）擔任訪問學者。先前於 2025 年於淡江大學人工智慧學系擔任助理教授，現為國立臺灣科技大學智慧製造科技研究所助理教授。研究興趣涵蓋 computer vision、deep learning、multimodal learning、artificial intelligence of things (AIoT)、robot perception & navigation 與 human-robot interaction。

Dr. Jhong’s research excellence has been widely recognized. In 2025, he was the recipient of four prestigious Best Ph.D. Thesis Awards, conferred by the IEEE Tainan Section, the IET Taipei Local Network, the Taiwan Association of Systems Science and Engineering (中華民國系統學會), and the Taiwan Consumer Electronics Society (中華民國消費電子學會). He has established a prolific publication record with over 15 papers in top-tier SCI journals, including IEEE Trans. Consumer Electronics, IEEE Trans. Instrumentation and Measurement and ACM Trans. Multimedia Computing, Communications, and Applications. In addition to journal publications, Dr. Jhong has received numerous accolades at international conferences. His recent achievements in 2025 include the Outstanding Presentation Award at IEEE AVSS, the First Prize Best Student Paper and Second Prize Best Paper at Automation, the Second Prize Best Paper at CACS, and the Best Paper Honorable Mention at ARIS.

Dr. Jhong 曾獲多項研究獎項。2025 年榮獲 四項最佳博士論文獎，分別由 IEEE Tainan Section、IET Taipei Local Network、中華民國系統學會（TASSE）與中華民國消費電子學會（TCES）頒授。已於 SCI 期刊發表 逾 15 篇論文，包括 IEEE Trans. Consumer Electronics、IEEE Trans. Instrumentation and Measurement 與 ACM Trans. Multimedia Computing, Communications, and Applications；並於多個國際會議獲獎，2025 年成果包括 IEEE AVSS 的 傑出報告獎、Automation 的 最佳學生論文獎第一名 與 最佳論文獎第二名、CACS 的 最佳論文獎第二名，以及 ARIS 的 最佳論文獎佳作。

Dedicated to bridging the gap between theoretical research and practical application, Dr. Jhong has guided his research team to win over 30 awards in major national competitions. These include top prizes in the NCHU Capstone Competition for AI Empowerment and Robotics Applications in Manufacturing (2025), the International ICT Innovative Services Awards (2025), the National Electronic Design Creative Competition (2018–2026), and the Intel® DevCup x OpenVINO™ Toolkit Competition (2021, 2022). He has participated in over 20 industry-academic and NSTC projects, holding 2 U.S. patents, 10 Taiwan patents, and 1 China patent. He is also an active member of the academic community, having served as a Session Chair for conferences such as ARIS, CACS, Automation, and ICCE-TW, and as the Public Announcement Chair at ICETA 2021, where he was honored with the Best Service Award.

Dr. Jhong 致力於銜接理論研究與實務應用，指導研究團隊在重要全國性競賽中獲得 逾 30 項獎項，包括 NCHU Capstone Competition for AI Empowerment and Robotics Applications in Manufacturing（2025）、International ICT Innovative Services Awards（2025）、National Electronic Design Creative Competition（2018–2026）與 Intel® DevCup x OpenVINO™ Toolkit Competition（2021、2022）等競賽的 首獎。參與 逾 20 項產學與國科會計畫，持有 2 項美國專利、10 項臺灣專利 與 1 項中國專利。亦活躍於學術社群，曾於 ARIS、CACS、Automation、ICCE-TW 等會議擔任議程主持人，並於 ICETA 2021 擔任公開宣傳主持人，榮獲 最佳服務獎。
